From there we partnered with local suppliers for our produce to ensure freshness with a keen awareness of overall environmental impact. - Evergreen State Fairgrounds - The Evergreen State Fair Park has been a prominent year-round event facility in Snohomish County since 1949. The 193-acre park, located near Monroe, WA, attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors each year and is the proud host of the Evergreen State Fair every August. The Evergreen State Fair Park has a variety of facilities that can accommodate year-round events like trade shows, swap meets, animal shows, training seminars, festivals and car shows.
- Evergreen Speedway -- The Evergreen Speedway entertains crowds with a variety of events like, NASCAR races, Drift, Autocross, and other special events. The stadium can accommodate up to 6000 spectators in the covered grandstands and uncovered modular seating.

- Skylite Cellars - Skylite Cellars is a boutique winery in the Walla Walla Valley producing 2,000 cases of premium wines annually. Under the direction of winemaker, Greg Matiko, small lots of wines are meticulously crafted with attention to the natural expression of each varietal. Primarily, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec, Syrah & Carménère.Skylite Cellars has two magnificent tasting rooms located in Walla Walla and Woodinville, Washington. - Covington Cellars - David and Cindy Lawson’s winemaking philosophy has always been simple: starting with great grapes diminishes the need to intervene and allows the varietal to speak authentically for itself. Since our founding in 2002, our dedication to quality and attention to detail has been evident in every vintage we’ve been privileged to produce. Our success is dependent on only a few things: great vineyard partnerships, an unwavering passion and desire to be the best, and the daily hard work of the Covington Cellars team. Cabernet Franc and Sangiovese are our flagship varietals; and our goal will always be to make the most delicious examples of those wines in the state of Washington.
- Sol Stone Winery - Sol Stone Winery is a family-owned producer of wines sourced from distinguished Washington state vineyards. Established in 2011 by Buzz and Karen Buckingham who create Bordeaux, Burgundy and Rhone varietal wines in Woodinville, Washington. Each wine is made in limited quantities of one barrel to 200 cases and sold direct to consumers at the Woodinville tasting room or online. Sol Stone wine can also be found in select, locally-owned Puget Sound area restaurants and specialty wine shops distributed by Jeff Boyer Uncorked and Ambrosia Selections.
- Aspenwood Cellars - At Aspenwood Cellars we will try to make the best wine possible and offer it at a reasonable price. Every working person deserves a nice bottle of wine. Good wine should not be a privilege reserved only for the rich. In Vino Veritas, another of those true statements about wine and winemaking. Translated, it means “In wine there is truth”. Each taste of wine will remind you of what you did right and what you did wrong as a winemaker. Wine hides nothing. Wine holds nothing back. So indeed there is truth in wine. There is no room for short cuts, compromises or complacency. Quality in the finished wine is the direct result of quality practices at each step in the wine making process.
- Parks and Recreation:
- Chain Lake - Chain Lake is located about three miles north of Monroe. The lake is about 38.7 acres with an average depth of 10 feet. The watershed, or the land area that drains into the lake, covers about 473.7 acres and about 5% of the land is developed.
- Skykomish River Park - With more than 32 acres, Sky River Park is one of two community parks in Monroe. It includes an athletic field complex with four natural grass baseball fields, three soccer fields, restrooms and a concession building. A .75-mile long pathway rounds out the park with outdoor exercise equipment that attracts walkers throughout the summer. The park also includes 2 large gazebos that can be reserved for parties, a large children’s play area, outdoor picnic areas and ample parking.
- Lake Tye Park - Lake Tye Park is a 64-acre community park which hosts many spectacular community events throughout the year. Located along Fryelands Blvd at the City’s west end, the lake boasts a 42-acre recreational lake enjoyed by a diverse range of water enthusiasts. Walkers, runners and bicyclists regularly enjoy spectacular views along the 1.63-mile loop trail around Lake Tye which is also linked to other community trail segments. The lake includes a non-guarded beach and boat launch,* two large covered picnic shelters that can be reserved for parties, restrooms, concession building, tennis/pickleball and basketball courts, softball/baseball field, full-sized soccer/lacrosse field, children’s play area and parking for approximately 200 vehicles.
- Rainier View Park - This stunning 2-acre park, located at the intersection of Chain Lake Road and Rainier View Drive, boasts a fun children’s play area that features Biggo swings and a 13-foot high rotating rope climbing apparatus to stimulate multi-dimensional play. Walking trails link pedestrians to the fun neighborhood park which also provides picnic seating and open play grass areas. Come to this park and enjoy an afternoon BBQ.

The mission of Chain Lake Elementary School is to provide a safe and nurturing environment that promotes life-long learning. As a community of learners, we strive to empower individuals with the skills and attitudes necessary for success in a changing and diverse world.
Chain Lake Elementary School was built in 1990. Our school currently serves approximately 550 students in kindergarten through fifth grade. There are 21 classrooms and six portables. CLE has two ball fields, a grass play field, and a new-in 2019 soft-surface play equipment area.

Park Place Middle School provides a safe and nurturing learning environment in which staff members guide students to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. Park Place Middle School students actively participate in authentic activities, preparing to become lifelong learners and responsible community members.
Park Place Middle School was originally built as Monroe School District’s high school in 1976. There were three additions completed in 1980, one addition and a library in 1990, and an Art and Technology Program remodel in 1999. The building was converted to a junior high in 1999, and it became a middle school in 2005. The building is 109,912 square feet and sits on approximately 19.4 acres. There are 43 classrooms and five portables with a total capacity of 1,266 students. PPMS also has an extensive field space for physical education.

Monroe High School is a community of lifelong learners in which staff, students, parents, and citizens cooperatively interact in a safe environment. This relationship provides meaningful, diversified opportunities to develop attitudes, knowledge, and skills necessary for successful living in a changing world. We value the past, recognize responsibility to the present, and have goals for the future.
Monroe High School was built in 1999 and remodeled in 2005 to include an additional classroom wing and sports stadium. The building is 209,432 square feet and sits on approximately 33 acres. There are 74 classrooms and eight portables with a capacity for 2,133 students. In addition, MHS has a synthetic athletic field with running track; a 2,000 seat covered grandstand and press booth; a 500 seat visitors' bleacher; an all-weather baseball field; a softball field; a practice field; and eight tennis courts.
