Mill Creek Elementary School opened in 1988 to serve the elementary school needs of the then, new community of Mill Creek. The school’s connection to the community has grown as the community has also grown. Residents enjoy student music and drama performances each year. From jump rope teams to Boy and Girl Scouts and Little League, Mill Creek Elementary School hosts and welcomes neighborhood activities and residents.

Heatherwood Middle School opened in 1989. The two-story school is nestled in the city of Mill Creek, surrounded by forest. The community uses Heatherwood Middle School facilities and campus year-round, taking advantage of numerous athletic/recreation facilities including two gymnasiums, soccer, softball/baseball, football fields, track, tennis courts, outdoor covered basketball court, and interpretive trail.
